The commission shall appoint, by and with the advice and consent of the Governor, a director, who shall be the executive secretary and administrative officer of the commission. As a qualification, such director shall have earned a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in forestry. The director shall receive a salary fixed by the commission plus actual expenses as provided for other state officials and employees and shall hold office at the pleasure of the commission. The present director shall continue to serve until removed by the commission.
