Title 17, Chapter 12, Section 11
( 17-12-11)
(a) The county may recover payment or reimbursement, as the case may
be, from each person who has received legal assistance or another
benefit under this article: (1) To which he was not entitled; (2) With respect to which he was not an indigent person when he
received it; or (3) With respect to which he has failed to make payment or reimbursement ordered under subsection (c) of Code Section 17-12-10 and for which he refuses to pay or reimburse. (b) An action must be brought within four years after the date on
which the aid was received. (c) The county may recover payment or reimbursement, as the case may
be, from each person, other than a person covered by subsection (a)
of this Code section, who has received legal assistance under this
article and who, on the date on which the action is brought, is
financially able but refuses to pay or reimburse the county for the
assistance according to the standards of ability to pay applicable
under this article. The action must be brought within four years
after the date on which the benefit was received. |
