(a) Before any attorney shall be entitled to the compensation and expenses provided for in Code Sections 17-12-60 and 17-12-61, the attorney shall also file with the court in which the services were rendered an affidavit containing a statement that he has not directly or indirectly received or entered into a contract to receive any compensation for such services or reimbursement for such expenses from any source.

(b) In the event the attorney receives compensation from any source whatsoever for services rendered or expenses incurred in the case subsequent to receiving compensation from the county or the state under Code Section 17-12-60 or 17-12-61, the attorney shall reimburse the county or state, or both, either on a pro rata basis or in full, for all funds that have been paid to the attorney.
