( 20-3-546)
The board of trustees shall have the authority: (1) To make such reasonable rules and regulations as are necessary
for the performance of its duties; (2) To elect or appoint professors, educators, stewards, or any
other officers necessary for the Georgia Military College; to
discontinue or remove them as the good of the college may require;
and to fix their compensations; (3) To determine the policy and shape the conduct of the college; (4) To receive donations, bequests, and contributions to the
college; (5) To sign, execute, and deliver in the name of the college all
bonds that may be required of the college or its officers or
trustees; (6) To execute and deliver in the name of the college all
contracts that may be needed or necessary; (7) To borrow money, execute and deliver the note of the college,
and to secure the same; (8) To make purchases; (9) To erect buildings and equip them on lands belonging to the
college, on land loaned or leased to the college, and on lands of
the state heretofore or hereafter granted to or set apart for use
of the college; (10) To administer scholarships, loans, and financial assistance
programs as may become available; and (11) To exercise any power usually granted to such board,
necessary to its usefulness, not inconsistent with the
Constitution and laws of this state. |
