(a) When the use of voting machines has been authorized in the manner prescribed by Code Section 21-2-320 or 21-2-321, such voting machines shall be installed, either simultaneously or gradually, within the county or municipality. Upon the installation of voting machines in any precinct, the use of paper ballots therein shall be discontinued, except as otherwise provided by this chapter. (b) In each precinct in which voting machines are used, the
governing authority shall provide at least one voting machine for
each 500 electors, or major fraction thereof, except that at least
one voting machine shall be provided in each such precinct in any
case. (c) Voting machines of different kinds may be used for different
precincts in the same county or municipality. (d) The governing authority shall provide voting machines in good
working order and of sufficient capacity to accommodate the names of
a reasonable number of candidates for all party offices and
nominations and public offices, which, under existing laws and party
rules, are likely to be voted for at any future primary or election. |
