Title 21, Chapter 2, Section 362
(a) The superintendent of the county or the governing authority of
the municipality shall designate a person or persons who shall have
the custody of the vote recorders and tabulating machines of the
county or municipality when they are not in use at a primary or
election and shall provide for his or her compensation and for the
safe storage and care of the vote recorders.
(b) All vote recorders and tabulating machines, when not in use,
shall be properly covered and stored in a suitable place or places.
