( 26-4-114)
(a) A pharmacy located within and owned and operated by a school or
college of pharmacy in this state may apply to the board for a
special pharmacy permit which shall entitle the holder thereof to
purchase, receive, possess, or dispose of drugs for educational or
research purposes. The application shall include the name of a
registered pharmacist who shall be responsible for maintaining
accurate records regarding the purchase, receipt, possession, and
disposal of drugs utilized for educational or research purposes. If
the board certifies that the application complies with applicable
laws and rules and regulations, the board shall issue the permit. (b) A holder of a special pharmacy permit under subsection (a) of
this Code section shall not engage in the sale or dispensing of
drugs. (c) The board shall have the authority to promulgate rules and
regulations governing the holder of a special pharmacy permit under
this Code section and may exempt the holder thereof from
requirements otherwise applicable to other pharmacies. |
