( 45-15-12)
The Attorney General, as the head of the Department of Law and the
chief legal officer of the state, is authorized to file and
prosecute civil recovery actions in the name of the state against
any person, firm, or corporation which violates any statute while
dealing with the state or any official, employee, department,
agency, board, bureau, commission, institution, or authority
thereof, which violation results in loss, damage, or injury to the
state or to any of its departments, adjuncts, or taxpayers. |
