Every railroad company shall require of every engineer employed by
it to render daily to a proper officer an account of any livestock
or other property injured, killed, or destroyed, which reports shall
be recorded in a book which shall be kept open for inspection by all
persons. For the failure to keep such a record and to require such
reports by engineers, the company shall be liable for 10 percent
extra damages to any person whose livestock or other property is
injured by the company. |
