Title 50, Chapter 16, Section 142 (50-16-142) When any officer shall vacate his office, he shall take a receipt from his successor for all property turned over to the successor, which receipt shall be entered in the inventory book; and he shall satisfactorily account to the proper authority for any not turned over.
